Maria Tran Reporting on VSA Youth Night
Sat/Sun, 26th/27th of April, 2008.
A fun and fulfilling night of highly engaging and interactive activities between State Vietnamese Student Associations and preparation of the 30th of April Commemoration of the fall of Saigon, Vietnam in 1975.
This is my first time attendance as a recently formed and acclerating Vietnamese Graduates Association (VGA), and I must say, it was awesome fun! We had an estimate of 200 youth individuals who have travelled from the major states of NSW, VIC, & SA to participate in this event.
Packed in one common room, sharing one shower and surviving off pre packed noodles, this event was a great opportunity for sharing and discussing relevant youth issues of miscommunication and commitment as well as updating everyone of the state’s activities and annual events.
Joesph Dinh and I enjoyed conducting our “Energiser” Balloon game and also the Mcing of the protest on the subsequent day with other prominent Vietnamese Community of Australia figures.
In addition, young people shared their hopes and dreams for the future of Vietnam and showed their passionate support for an annual and significant event in the history of their motherland’s land.
Well done everyone and myself and other VGA members anticipate to see you all in 2009 Youth Night.
Signing off,
Maria Tran
