SYNOPSIS
Starring and co-directed by Jackie Chan, 1911 tells the story of the founding of the Republic of China when Sun Yat-sen’s Revolutionary forces overthrew the Ming Dynasty. Sun is played by look-alike Chinese actor Zhao Wen Xuan. Li Bingbing, Winston Chao, Joan Chen, Jackie’s son Jaycee Chan also star along with a stellar support cast of over 70 famous actors. This $30million epic historical drama marks Jackie Chan’s 100thmovie. Its cinema release also coincides with the 100th Year Anniversary of the Xinhai Revolution, also known as the Revolution of 1911, one of the most significant periods in Chinese history, commencing with the Wuchang Uprising on October 10, 1911 and ending with the abdication of Emperor Puyi on February 10, 1912. 1911 features not only the ideals and actions of the great political leaders, patriots and martyrs but also the love story between Huang Xing and Xu Zonghan.
