FILM SHOOT: short film "The Place I'll Never Forget" - directed by Marie Setiawan

Date: Tues, 26 July @ 6pm-12pm

Australian-Indonesian filmmaker in incubation, Marie Setiawan is at it with her 2nd drama-based short film "The Place I'll Never Forget" starring some favorite familiar faces. We have Barton Williams, Fellino Delloso, Jemwel Dewao and first time actor, Anthony Nguyen.

We had an great tight crew that made magic happen on this guerrilla shoot. Rushan Dissanayake  (debuting as DOP/ Camera), David Minh Tam Nguyen (kick ass first AD), Thuy Ng (Production Manager), Michael Yu (runner/production assistant), Piotr (reliable sound guy)  and production designer Simone Kadlas.

I play a quick cameo in this one as the "pregnant" wife of "Budi" played by young gun Jemwel Danao. I'm impressed with Simone Kadlas work on the fake baby bump though.

I like Marie's firm and assertive directing approach and Thuy does a good job with call sheets and food.
We were running behind but I think getting on set, creating and working towards an ideal guerrilla shoot is the way to go. I'm looking forward to seeing the outcome!

Just letting you know that there's 2 sleeps till FILM CLUB where filmmakers from the wild west get together and show us what they are made of. Im a little weary that I'll have to finish my clip on time, but I just know that I'll manage somehow (I always do).

PEOPLE: Barton Williams on picture book "Angry Mangry"

Congratulations to Barton Williams as he has recently launched his picture book titled "Angry Mangry". Some neat things about Bart is that he's a teacher, writer, tv producer and actor. A man with a constant juggle on his plate in terms of the creatives and with a deep love of sport (he is Vietnamese's only barefoot waterskier in the world).  Last year I worked with Bart on a Vietnamese theatre project called "Aussie Cuoi" out in Cabramatta. Bart was the leading character "Cuoi" while I played his ditzy wife "Kim Mai". So check out (and purchase) a copy of "Angry Mangry" and keep a look out for his other pending picture book projects as part of his Skoolrox series. You can order your copy here.
