GETAWAY: Mt Victoria Hike

It was a breathe of fresh air to get away from the clutter of everyday living and venture off into the Blue Mountains, Victoria Mt for a day and night tent accommodation.

It definitely an asset to have Trung lead the way with the hike, because after a few hours of walking endlessly, I lost my bearings as soon as we we trucking through just bush lands.

Some cool things that Trung did along the way was catch several large yabbies with his bare hands. He is a born hunter, while having one yabby tied to his short strings in front of his crotch, the other hand was quick to dart for any red movement in the river. Meanwhile, you have me on the sideline, watching nervously and hoping the stuff you see movies, like a hoard of killer yabbies won't come out and attack my hunny.

Other neat things I learn was to freeze the water and meats before the trip, as it melts, it will still be good to eat.

Some super essentials is a tent, a propane gas tank ($7 from Kmart that you can use for 10 camp trips), chopsticks, knife, toilet paper, good pair of hiking shoes and socks and a warm water proof jacket.

But if you got a Trung, he'll know what to do, especially that camp fire that will keep you warm at night.

Yum! Dinner!
Some scary things that did happen. When the fire exploded several times like a gun shot send scrapnels everywhere. It turns out that place a rock (to acts like a oven) to quite dangerous as it over heats and fractures.

Recipes to make:
1. Fried Onion Egg soup
2 x packets of Aldi chicken soup
1 x egg
3 tablespoons of fried onion
Salt and pepper to taste

Cook the soup and add the fried onion and salt and pepper to taste.
Stir in one broken egg.

This one has a very hearty laksa texture to it. Add a bit of chilli and you might get something of that result.
