EVENT: Digital Series Intro to Lights, Camera, Action!

Event attendees!
Date: 6-10pm, Sat 24 Sept, 2011
Venue: The Shed, 6 Carramar Ave, Carramar

A great event with up to 30 local filmmakers/ actors/ writers who joined in on the workshop, LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION (Hong Kong Style!) featuring special guest, Tamara Guo.

We had our internal presenting team of Roxie Vuong, Mehran Rows and Quan Tran presenting on areas of film such as cinematography, lighting and sound.

Roxie’s presentation took the audience through the important of framing and lighting applications while Mehran elaborated on the specifics of film lighting terminology and wattage. Quan topped it off with a recap on film framing such as the rule of thirds and some of his digital gear that some of the audience members got a chance to play around after.

Finally, we had a good opportunity to hear the awe-inspiring Tamara Guo speak about her journey experience working as a action actress and renown singer in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.

One thing that stood out for me is that she believes everyone should find out who they are and what they really want to be. Knowing yourself, solidifying your core values are important to sustain is such as “face value” field. Even though she had made films such as Women on the Run (1993) and Techno Warriors (1997), and has been singing in over 3,000 concerts, she says that you should always keep your dignity and be true to who you are.

Some video clips will be online soon so stick around!
