Every Sunday, I've been committing myself to the Vietnamese Intergenerational Theatre Project managed by Fairfield City Council until the final finale performance on the 19th of September, 2010 at the 2010 Cabramatta Moon Festival. This week we have just finalised our story "Aussie Cuoi" - which is a folkloric story of the man on the moon with a contemporary modern day spin to it. So far, I've been working with the steering committee (Anh Linh, Kim Huong, Kim Anh) as well as the artistic director Lex Marinos (director of "A Country Practice"). I've been having heaps of fun working across generations in developing the script work and particularly the comedic values of Vietnamese comedy. The elders have been such a pleasure to work with as they pass down their traditional music, and poems for the next generations.
Here's a sneak peek of the work in progress....
In the meantime, we are still looking for a MALE VIETNAMESE SPEAKING actor/ performer to play the lead role "Cuoi". If you are interested, please contact Maria Tran on 0433803449.
Signing out,
Maria Tran
