FREE COMEDY AND IMPROVISATION WEEKEND WORKSHOP FOR AGES 15-24

Young people aged 15-24 are invited to participate in a free improvisation and comedy weekend intensive workshop, the "Jokers Jam".
This free workshop will be hosted by the Wareabouts performance program and Powerhouse Youth Theatre. Training activities will be led by community facilitators and performers: theatre artist Andy Ko,actor/professional clown Lauren Maher and “My Place” ABC TV actor Maria Tran.

“If we didn’t see the funny side of things, we’d go mad,” says Lauren Maher.

Over the course of two days, young people will learn about creating characters and scenes, and develop key skills in acting and the basics of comedy. At the end of the workshop, all participants will have produced their own short sketches and scenes.
Jokers Jam will run on 3/July Saturday (10-4pm) and 4/July Sunday (1-5pm) at School of Arts, 19 Harris St, Fairfield.
