Author Talk: Destination Saigon

I haven't got a hold of this one yet, but I'm bound to, especially when I'm starting to long Vietnam - the place feel such a connection to.

I've seen the vibrant cover of this book at mainstream bookstores since April but wasn't sure what it was all about.

Coincidently, this book bumped back into my life through Thang Ngo in a recent email exchange.

For those of you who want to meet and connect with the author Walter Mason, he'll be at the Whitlam Library, Cabramatta, 6.30pm on next Wednesday the 9th.

"captures the colour, smells, everyday life... that is Vietnam in the 21st Century" Sunday Telegraph

"interesting... well written... engrossing" SMH, The Age

"fascinating and entertaining..." Courier Mail

"an entertaining insight..." Herald Sun

"Between the soft chanting of ghosts, the mischievousness of fairies and a hysterical account of a night of karaoke with a group of fishermen this book is a gem." Nova Magazine

"A rare insight into Vietnam's rich history and culture" MiNDFOOD

"hilarious, heartbreaking and fascinating... an absorbing love letter... perfect..." NW

Destination Saigon, by Walter Mason is a funny, touching and truly unique journey through contemporary Vietnam.
